Community Voices (CV) is a Los Angeles countywide advocacy program led by Crystal Stairs, Inc. that focuses on building parent and provider leadership and stronger advocates for children and working families through workshops, community organizing, revitalized civic engagement, advocacy events and legislative interactions.
The Community Voices program encompasses our tagline: “Educate. Empower. Advocate.”
- We EDUCATE through our advocacy workshops.
- We EMPOWER our members through our leadership development trainings and opportunities.
- We ADVOCATE by actively engaging in advocacy through legislative activities.
Since 2006, Community Voices has trained more than 2,000 parents and child care providers, nonprofit leaders and members of the community to advocate with skill for access to quality affordable child care and early learning. We represent children and families throughout South Los Angeles and across Los Angeles County.

Community Voices is a civic leadership program that provides training and technical assistance to its members in organizing, advocacy and leadership development.
Through this experience, our members gain personal leadership development and growth opportunities to equip them to lead and advocate not only on early childhood education issues, but also in their own sphere of influence, whether that is in their own neighborhood, school PTA or work place.
